Ladbrokes Reports Huge Third Quarter Profit Increase

Ladbrokes, operator of the popular Ladbrokes Bingo site, has just reported their fiscal third quarter earnings - and the results were quite positive. Operating profit was up a massive 128% as compared to third quarter of 2009 results. The World Cup certainly helped propel this increase via Ladbrokes sports betting operations, but Ladbrokes Bingo was also a key contributor to this strong profitability. In fact, online bingo helped carry the day for Ladbrokes seeing that their profits from online poker significantly decreased. Analysts point to Ladbrokes unwillingness to operate in the American online poker arena as a main cause for the decline in earnings coming from this sector.

Despite these positive third quarter results, Ladbrokes CEO Richard Glynn remains cautious when discussing future expectations. He predicts a "tough" operating environment for online gaming firms over the next year, and he indicated that Ladbrokes will attempt to remain strong by offering their customers top quality gaming opportunities within all of their gaming outlets.
