Canadian Charity Work Performed Through Bingo

You would be forgiven for thinking that North Americans weren’t as into bingo as us Brits, but in fact they are. In some parts of North America they love playing bingo and they can get enough of it, they just don’t have the same range of choice when it comes to online bingo as we do. However, they do enjoy the traditional version and favour 75 ball in particular, which is becoming popular on UK bingo sites when it comes to playing for patterns. Bingo may not be popular in the major cosmopolitan areas of the country but it is definitely popular in other areas and can help to bring communities together.
Any regular readers of the articles at Wiki Bingo will be fully aware that Americans in some regions play a lot of charity bingo because it is a not for profit formula that was devised to help out the less fortunate. Gambling is not legal in most parts of the country – barring Las Vegas, Atlantic City and Indian Reserves – and, consequently, bingo can only be played for charity. However, this is a great formula because vital funding is raised for people who need it and players still get to win bingo jackpots.
Bingo is still on the rise in some parts of Canada and news has reached us regarding plans for a state-of-the-art gambling centre, with the focus primarily centred on bingo. The brand new bingo centre will be based in Truro, Nova Scotia, a province based in the very west of Canada alongside the waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Canadians aren’t as strict on gambling as the US, yet that hasn’t stopped this new bingo imitative from being led by a not-for-profit organisation wanting the best for needy members of the local community.
Millbrook Community Bingo Society will be running the show and are going to be responsible for the day-to-day operations of a 28,000 square foot building. Plans are already afoot for massive games of Super Bingo that will potentially have between 1,500 and 2,000 players willing their way toward jackpot wins. Amazingly, organisers of the Millbrook Community Bingo Society have planned their schedule so that it doesn’t hinder those of other charitable bingo organisations; all of these organisations in the local area work together to try and help each other out, thereby demonstrating the community potential of bingo as a pastime.
Another major factor behind the decision is that the charity does not want to incur any negative PR from going against other smaller organisations. The grand plan for this new launch will be to encourage the uptake of bingo in Truro with players encouraged to attend all of the bingo games in the area. All of these plans are great, but we can’t help but feel like we could live in a place where there bingo sessions taking place all the time. At least we have online bingo to play 24-7!!
