Bob's Bingo Joins the TV Bingo Advertising Revolution

TV has become a powerful outlet for online bingo sites that target potential players through a couple of different techniques. Foxy Bingo has been utilising TV as an advertising medium for a few years now and is a great example of a bingo site sponsoring a show. Foxy Bingo has previously been the sponsor of The Jeremy Kyle Show and still appears one re-runs of old episodes. An additional feather to the advertising bow of Foxy Bingo has been the progression into digital radio sponsorship, and this may have been the reason for ending the association with Jeremy Kyle.Despite letting its TV sponsorship deal lapse, Foxy Bingo is still very much present on the telly box. Just last week the site released an advert which saw the site’s mascot, Foxy, collaborate with The Only Way Is Essex (TOWIE) beauty Lucy Mecklenburgh. During the ad, Foxy made fun of the Essex attitude to tanning by promoting his own line of cosmetic products called ‘Real Fur’. Foxy Bingo took a different approach to Bob’s Bingo by instead concentrating on creating a connection with the audience as opposed to discussing site-specific promotions. Furthermore, the ad appears to be a great idea because it uses a popular celebrity from popular culture to attract people’s attention.
bet365 Bingo & Emmerdale
Taking a look once more at TV sponsorship, we have a further example for you: bet365 Bingo; the site is currently the sponsor for popular British TV soap Emmerdale. This is a great choice on the part of bet365 Bingo because Emmerdale commands an audience of millions any time that it appears in TV schedules. bet365 can reach lots of potential players through this choice of sponsorship and does not have to worry about creating witty and engaging ads which couldn’t compete with Foxy Bingo.XBingo & The Chase
XBingo is another site place in the pile of bingo sites that are engaged in a TV sponsorship deal. The site currently sponsors popular ITV game show ‘The Chase’ since October 2011. Sponsorship is an interesting strategy because XBingo gets to borrow the credibility of a game show to help draw interest and new players to the brand. Contestants on The Chase can win thousands of pounds, ensuring that viewers remain interested and engaged.Bingo sites that don’t get involved in TV advertising are missing out on a great opportunity to boost their reach. However, a considered strategy needs to be decided upon that will best fit the brand image.
